Family Reunion

This past weekend I met up with some cousins on my mother's side at a little reunion in San Jose. This is a picture of me with my mom and in the middle is my cousin Adora. Adora and I are just 2 months apart and hadn't seen each other since we were little kids. (Sad) We were happy to at last find her (thanks to my brother Phil) and spend some time together. Adora just lost her mom (my mom's sister Norma). Norma you will be missed! Adora we promise now to keep in touch and to visit with you again soon!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BRIAN TODAY!!!!

Today is my son Brian's 28th birthday!
Brian I wish I could see you today to celebrate with you. One of these years I will make it out to you to share your birthday with you!!!
This picture was taken in January 1984 in a studio in San Francisco. I don't remember the name of the little girl. This was a photo shoot for a Mervyn's baby sale flyer that came out in the mail. They never actually used this picture in the ad. It was decided that having a ladder in the picture made it seem too dangerous for little kids. I remember it was impossible to get Brian and the little girl to smile. She was unhappy and had been crying. Brian never cried, he just wasn't very cheerful. Can you guess what the advertisers were promoting in this picture?

GOLDEN GRAHAM S'MORES

GOLDEN GRAHAM S'MORES

5 Tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 small pkg milk chocolate chips (about 1 1/2 cups)
5 cups mini marshmallows
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 cups Golden Graham cereal

Melt together over medium heat-butter, corn syrup, chocolate chips and 4 cups marshmallows. Remove from heat and add vanilla, stir and then add cereal. After cereal is well coated stir in remaining 1 cup marshmallows. Spread and press onto 9x13 pan. Cut into squares when cooled.

*One of the patients where I work made these and shared them with us the other day. They were so yummy that I asked her for the recipe. There are different variations of it on line. This version doesn't have as much sugar as the other one I found. This one is sweet enough, I can't imagine the other version. Try it!! Super easy to make!!

Save energy, ride a CAMEL

Here is Ken riding the alleged stolen camel. Doesn't he look happy on this camel? I am convinced that the reason he rode off with it is that it saves energy. Ken is such an environmentalist and he is always trying to convince us to "go green" Well Ken, this time you really practiced what you preached!!! How many miles per gallon did you say the camel gets?
